In this study the student is introduced to the discipline of biblical theology, covering its place and function in the encyclopedia of theology, a brief history, a working definition, various models and practitioners, and the relationship between hermeneutics and biblical theology. It also provides a brief overview of redemptive history from creation to consummation, focusing on the progressive, organic, Christ-centered unfolding of Special Revelation in light of the entire canon of Scripture. The course concludes with examples of biblical-theological exegesis with the goal of preaching. This course is required for MA, MDiV and BDiV students. Listeners are welcome to attend. Dates: October 13th to 17th.
