A Bible-believing Reformed Baptist Church in Charlesworth
Trinity Baptist Church is a Bible-believing confessional Reformed Baptist church in Charlesworth, near Glossop. We exist to worship the Triune God, proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, and make disciples through the faithful preaching of His Word.
Whether you have been attending church for many years, are returning after a long time away, or are exploring the Christian faith for the first time, you are warmly welcome to join us.
Our Church
Worships the Triune God

We exist to worship and commune with the triune God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We rejoice to gather each Sunday in particular to adore, praise and thank him.
Proclaims God's Word

We seek to confess and proclaim the whole counsel of God. The preaching of God's word is central to our life and worship, and we seek to order all that we do according to the Holy Bible.
Follows the Lord Jesus Christ

He is at the heart of everything we do. We rejoice to confess that the eternal Son of God came into the world to save sinners. We believe in him, confess him and follow him.
Loves One Another

We endeavour to love, encourage and support one another, growing together into maturity of faith as we serve our Lord.

Within and alongside the regular ministry of the church, we strive to share the good news of Jesus Christ in our community and beyond.
What Does 'Reformed Baptist' Mean?
Reformed
We believe that the principle doctrines recovered during the Protestant Reformation faithfully express the teaching of God's Word.
Baptist
We believe that the New Testament teaches the baptism of those who personally profess faith in Jesus Christ and the gathered church of believers
Our desire is not simply to preserve a tradition, but to order our doctrine, worship and church life according to the Scriptures.
What We Believe
This is our Church Basis of Faith, which summarises what every member understands, believes and confesses concerning: the Bible, God, mankind, Christ, salvation, the Holy Spirit, the Church, the ordinances, the Second Coming and the final judgment that we must all face when Christ returns.
Rooted In Historical Christianity
Creeds Of The Early Churches
Our above Basis of Faith in all points agrees with the historical Creeds. These are: the Apostles Creed, both Nicene Creeds (only the second and fuller is below), the Chalcedonian Definition and the Athanasian Creed. We believe these Creeds are a true representation of Scritpural teaching, and we rejoice to confess the same fundamental truths God's people confessed across the ages.
We understand these Creeds to be secondary to the authority of God's word, but still important as embodying much of the wisdom the Spirit has given to the Church of Jesus Christ. See them below:
The 1689 Confession
As a confessional Reformed Baptist church, our beliefs are more fully expressed in the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith (1689). We gladly subscribe to this historic confession because we believe it faithfully summarises the teaching of Holy Scripture.
Leadership
The Lord has given pastors and deacons to serve His church through ministry and service. We thank God for those who faithfully serve the congregation in these roles.
