Dr. James Renihan writes: To all the Saints in Christ Jesus, Greetings and Happy New Year. One of my favorite Psalms to preach on is Psalm 136. You remember it: 26 times we are reminded that the Lord's mercy endures forever. Literally, each verse concludes by saying "eternally, His love." This is a great thought at the change of the year. We are at the point of the year when it seems that many are contemplating the 12 months that have passed while others look to the 365 days ahead. As I consider the past, I can say that the Lord's mercy and grace have been evident every day. Our school has enjoyed great blessings and also endured moments of profound disappointment. Through it all, our God has been faithful. He has heard the prayers of His people and carried us into a New Year. His love has been with us each day. Eternally, His love. If I look ahead, while I am not a prophet nor the son of a prophet, I anticipate many good things. I am assured of the fact that our immutable and unchanging God will always show mercy and grace to us. Eternally, His love. I know that he will hear our prayers and provide for all our needs.
