Benedict is graduating MDiv from IRBS this month. He writes in the latest newsletter: My experience at IRBS has been a comprehensive one. Over a number of years, I have been taught by excellent scholar pastors. These men are experts in the academic field, and yet are also aware of the particulars of day-to-day pastoral ministry. This combination of academic rigour and practical wisdom has imparted a wealth of eminently useful knowledge for which I am exceedingly thankful. The degree provides excellent opportunities for the student to learn many of these under the tutelage of the professors. More than this, the importance of holiness and a reliance upon God has been impressed upon me by word and example over and over by the professors at the seminary. Though the utmost need for educated pastors is well-emphasised, yet the necessity of a holy pastor has, if possible, been held up as even more essential. I am most grateful of all for this. In all of this, IRBS in no way undermined the role of the local church in the training of the man. The Internship plan, in fact, encourages significant involvement of the local church in the development of their training member. May it always be so that this seminary and the local church can work in unison for the aim of training men for the ministry.
