Benedict
Position: Elder & Pastor
About:
By the grace of God, I was saved at a fairly young age. The Lord convicted my heart of sin and opened up the only path of salvation to me. Though it took a few years, God dealt with my pride and my love of sin. He brought me to a saving faith in Jesus Christ as the only Lord and Saviour of mankind. It is a constant joy to my heart that he chose to save me. I know from the Bible and from my experience that it was all of him and none of me.
Over the years, the Lord has continued to sanctify me. He has been so faithful and patient, bearing with my weakness and sinfulness. Yet, I have seen the fruits of his Spirit in my life, and I am eternally grateful. For a long time, I have aspired to be a preacher of the gospel and a pastor of God’s people.
My training for this involved sitting under faithful preaching, training in my previous Church (Trinity Grace Church, Ramsbottom), studying at IRBS (International Reformed Baptist Seminary) and taking up a part-time role in this Church (Trinity Baptist Church) for two years. In these ways, amongst others, I have been prepared for the ministry. I was ordained and inducted to the position of elder in this Church in October 2025.
In 2024 I married Isabel, and we have been recently blessed with a daughter.

Martin
Position: Deacon
About:
I was born in January 1962 into a Christian family and raised with traditional British discipline and values. My father worshipped at Westminster Chapel under the ministry of Martin Lloyd-Jones, alongside Ian Murray.
I was converted at the age of 13 while attending Spicer Street Church in St Albans, where Peter Secombe was pastor. In 1987, I married Jacqueline, and in 1988 we moved to Macclesfield to begin family life.
During that time, we were involved in a small, fledgling church established with my father, which eventually came to an end as his health declined. In 1992, we joined Grace Baptist Church in Cheadle under the ministry of Stephen Reece. I was baptised there in 1997 and continued to grow in the fellowship of the church until 2010. At that point, as a family, we volunteered to move in order to support the struggling work at Charlesworth, which was under the oversight of Grace Baptist Church.
We have been part of Trinity Baptist Church, Charlesworth ever since. In 2024, I was called to serve as a deacon.
